About Me

Hi, I'm Atul Vishwakarma, a Cloud & DevOps Engineer based in Mumbai, India.

Welcome to Atul Codes! I built this space to document my journey in tech, share hands-on infrastructure tutorials, and help other developers master cloud automation.

What I Do

Currently, I work at ShypBUDDY as a Full Stack Engineer with a heavy focus on Cloud & DevOps. I operate as the sole Cloud & DevOps owner, where I have end-to-end ownership spanning containerized microservices, CI/CD automation, and production reliability for a high-throughput logistics platform processing over 2,000 daily orders.

My day-to-day involves designing, deploying, and operating scalable cloud-native infrastructure primarily on AWS. I am deeply passionate about automating the tedious parts of software development so engineering teams can move faster and safer.

Some of the production wins I am most proud of include:

  • Reducing deployment cycles by 80%, taking release times from two weeks down to just three days.
  • Cutting our Mean Time To Detect (MTTD) by 40% by building custom CloudWatch observability pipelines.
  • Enforcing SOC2-aligned security baselines through strict RBAC policies and AWS Secrets Manager.

My Tech Stack

I am a hands-on practitioner of Infrastructure as Code. Here are the tools I use daily to build resilient systems:

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, ALB, IAM).
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and Helm.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD & Automation: GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, and AWS CodeDeploy.

Community & Beyond

I firmly believe that the best way to learn is in public. I have built and publicly documented over 12 AWS infrastructure projects. I hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification , and I am a proud contributor to open-source software through Hacktoberfest. In 2024, I also co-authored a published paper evaluating AWS infrastructure against traditional on-premise solutions.

When I am not writing Terraform modules or debugging pipelines, I am usually looking for new ways to optimize cloud costs or exploring the latest DevOps tooling.
